Intermediate Body (IB) of Operational Programme Environment 2007 - 2013 is the EU Funds for Environment Directorate within the Ministry of Environment and Water. The IB shall support the operative implementation of the OP in accordance with the tasks delegated to it. Its main responsibilities will be related to preparation, implementation, monitoring, control and reporting activities.
In the process of preparation, selection and approval of operations for financing the IB shall provide consultation to potential beneficiaries on development of project proposals, shall perform detailed assessment of project proposals which have successfully passed the formal assessment, shall perform assessment of the capacity of the potential beneficiary related to project management and shall prepare a draft contract with the beneficiary. In the process of project realization the IB shall control the proper implementation of public procurement procedures implemented by the beneficiary. The IB shall perform verification in relation to administrative, financial, technical and physical implementation of the project by the beneficiary. In relation to OPE, the IB shall be responsible for payments to the programme beneficiaries.
