Today, 14.10.2010, at an official ceremony, Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov and Beloslav Mayor Emil Dichev put into operation the latest successfully completed object under Operational Programme Environment 2007 - 2013.
The total value of the project for construction of a sewerage network and a collection system to the existing urban waste water treatment plant and of a water supply system is BGN 21 675 497, with BGN 16 902 167.20 co-financed from the EU Cohesion Fund and BGN 4 225 541.80 of national co-funding.

Owing to the well done job by the Beloslav Muncipality team, the town is the first one in Bulgaria with water supply and sewerage system replaced at 100 percent, said Premier Boyko Borisov.

Deputy Minister of Environment and Water Ivelina Vasileva and the Head of OPE Managing Authority Malina Krumova attended the ceremony. Participants included also Minister for EU Funds Management Tomislav Donchev who said that municipal activity is essential for the EU funds absorption process.

The project for construction of a sewerage network and a collection system in Beloslav is the biggest one implemented in the past 30 years and was completed in 16 months, said Beloslav Mayor Emil Dichev. The mayor thanked the MOEW team for their active work and continuous support. Thirteen requests for payment were submitted by the beneficiary during the project implementation. Mr. Dichev delivered to Deputy-Minister Vasileva an exploitation certificate for the site.

The project implementation will contribute to improvement and development of the water and waste water infrastructure in the town of Beloslav and to brining the infrastructure in compliance with EU sustainable environment legislation. It will also contribute to improvement of the quality of life, to attracting new investments and to opening up new opportunities for improvement of the regional competitiveness of the whole municipality.
