MINISTER NONA KARADZHOVA SIGNED A CONTRACT WITH THE MUNICIPALITY OF STARA ZAGORA FOR INTERGRATED WATER PROJECT IN THE CITY

Minister of Environment and Water Nona Karadzhova and the mayor of Stara Zagova Zhivko Todorov signed a contract for the construction and modernization of water supply network  in the city, worth 39 MBGN and funded by OP “Environment 2007 – 2013 “.

The project includes construction of new sewerage network in accordance with the capacity of the WWTP and discharge permit in Stara Zagora and sewerage network in Bogomilovo village. The main collectors and outflow canal in downtown and APK  will be extended. Also in APK residential district the water supply network will be reconstructed and modernized.26 km sewerage and collectors will be build and rehabilitated.

The facilities will improve the quality of the environment in the city of Stara Zagora and Bogomilovo village, resulting in more efficient treatment of municipal wastewater.

The contract was signed during the twelfth meeting of the Monitoring Committee of Operational Programme “Environment”, held in Stara Zagora. At its regular meeting the annual progress report and appendix to the program for the inclusion of PUDOOS as a specific beneficiary of OPE will be approved.
