With the first held conference was announced the start of a project Sustainable management of National Park “Pirin” and “Tisata” reserve,  funded under the Operational Programme "Environment 2007 - 2013".

The press conference was attended by the Director of the National Park "Pirin», the mayor of Municipality Bansko, the project manager, representatives of MOEW and others. In front of journalists and concerned citizens were presented the objectives and activities set for the implementation of the project. An important element of these is the update of the management plan of the park, for which the major noted, that it should be based on a wide social basis,  on which ” the state and local government, as well  with NGOs to sit together  at a table and with join efforts to update the management plan of the Park" Pirin "”

Under the project will be protected and restored the biodiversity in National Park "Pirin" in anthropogenic impacted areas of the park. Is forthcoming the development and implementation of a system for the use of medicinal plants, construction and equippment of visitor information centers of  National Park "Pirin" in Sandanski and Bansko, as well as control - Information points of park security, establishing a system for avalanche protection on the  western slope of "Todorka" and construction of fire alarm system, management plan development for "Tisata" reserve, marking the boundaries of the park with permanent signs, etc.

All activities under the project should be implemented by the end of 2014.

The same day was inaugurated an exhibition of 120 photographs, which was dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Park. The photos are arranged in a pedestrian street in the city center and will be there until November 11th .

Next year, when will be celebrated 30 years of the inclusion of the National Park "Pirin", in the List of World Cultural and Natural Heritage by UNESCO, will be presented an exhibition in Sofia, Blagoevgrad, Gotse Delchev and Sandanski.
