Troyan Municipality gave start to its largest project for construction of sewerage and water supply network of the city. The project is funded by Operational programme “Environment 2007 – 2013” and has total amount of MBGN 29.

“This is the biggest project that has been implemented in Troyan Municipality. This project is a look into the future. It is an expression of the municipality’s desire to provide a better quality of life for a long period of time. This is the most difficult project that the municipality has carried out, because it will create unavoidable difficulties to businesses and citizens”. That said the Mayor of Troyan Municipality Ms. Donka Mihaylova at the ceremony for first sod and highlighted the economic, social and environmental benefits of the project. “The most importantly, we want to improve the quality of life for 23 thousand residents of the city, to be reducing the water loss, and to improve ecological balance in the city as well as the purity of Osam River. I would like to wish a good luck to the performers. I believe that within a year we will get the results we expect” said the Mayor.

By Operational programme “Environment 2007 – 2013” are running the most serious projects, because these are an infrastructure projects. I am confident that you will understand it in a year. I hope the commitment which builders took for fast, high quality and timely execution will be met” – this added a representative from the Managing Authority.

Through the implementation of the integrated water cycle project of Troyan will be improved the living environment as a result to expansion and reconstruction of 20 km. sewerage network and 7 km. water supply network. It will improve water supply to nearly 9 784 residents. It is expected to decrease water losses.
