PRIME MINISTER BOYKO BORISOV, MAYOR OF HISARYA GEORGI PIRYANKOV TO HOLD OPENING CEREMONY FOR WASTE WATER TREATMENT FACILITY IN HISARYA

The Prime Minister of Bulgaria Boyko Borisov and the Mayor of Hisarya Georgi Piryankov will hold an opening ceremony for the new waste water treatment plant in Hisarya. It is worth BGN 18.5 million, provided by Operational Programme "Environment", the state budget and the municipality.
The ceremony will take place on March 17, Thursday, at 11.30 am.
The ceremony will be attended by the Minister of EU Funds Management Tomislav Donchev, the Secretary of the EU Funds Management Council Yuliana Nikolova and the Head of Plovdiv Regional Administration Ivan Totev.
The waste water treatment plant is equipped with all three levels of treatment (mechanical, biological and tertiary). It has capacity to serve 25,000 citizens or three times more than the permanent citizens of the town. This will enable Hisarya to develop as a resort town and at the same time prevent negative impact on its natural resources.
Construction works under the project are to be carried out by a consortium, consisting of "Glavbolgarstroy" and German "Biogest International". The facility will be remotely managed from Germany and served locally by 10 employees.

The waste water treatment plant represents the first phase of the project aimed at improving the water cycle in the town. In connection to the implementation of its final phase, the municipality recently submitted proposals worth BGN 39 million to the Ministry of Environment and Water. The funds will be used to modernise the water supply and sewerage system of Momina Banya district, Verigovo district and Miromir district.
