MINISTER NONA KARADZHOVA WILL SIGN CONTRACT FOR WATER SUPPLY AND SEWAGE WATER INFRASTRUCTURE IN BANSKO

 

The Minister of Environment and Water Nona Karadzhova and the mayor of Bansko will sign a contract for grant of an integrated project to improve and develop the infrastructure of water supply and sewage water. The project will cost 89.5 MBGN and it is funded by Operational programme “Environment 2007 – 2013”.

Under the project is provided construction of new sewage treatment plant for waste water with capacity for 30 000 p.e. There will be build 27km sewerage network and 14km water supply network. It is expected to reduce water losses, which are about 42% and improve water quality. Will be increased the share of population connected to sewerage system of the municipality. Currently on the territory of Bansko hasn’t been built treatment plant for sewage water. By building the basic infrastructure necessary for drainage and wastewater treatment will reduce the discharge into Glazne River and therefore in the river basin of Mestra River.

The same day at 14:30pm, at the Directorate of National Park “Pirin” in Bansko, Minister Karadzhova will open summer Eco School entitled “We think about the waters of Pirin”. The program envisages cleaning of areas and water objects, identification and labeling of protected species, hiking in the park, including information campaigns and visitors to the National Park “Pirin” participating in nature conservation activities. The Eco School will be attended by students and teachers from 10 schools in the country – members of the Youth Water Parliament as well as experts from the Basin Directorates and National Park “Pirin”. The Eco School is funded by PUDOOS under the project entitled “I love the nature – and I participate”.
