The Managing Authority of the Operational Programme "Environment 2007 - 2013" is launching information days under procedure BG161PO005/11/3.1/02/23 "Development of management plans for special protected areas for birds not overlapping with the protected areas for habitats and wild flora and fauna".
The aim of the procedure is the development of management plans for 13 protected areas for wild birds - Dolni Bogrov, Yatata, Kamenski Bair, Tchairya, Orizishta, Tsalapitsa, Berkovitsa, Kocherinovo, Meshtitsa, Ribarnitsi Plovdiv and Chelopechene and the dams of Konush, Ovcharitsa and Zhrebchevo. Activities which can be financed include the monitoring of birds, research, inventories, analyses and mapping of bird habitats. The grant amounts to BGN 3 million and is provided by the European Regional Development Fund through Operational Programme "Environment".
Potential applicants under the procedure are the regional inspectorates of environment and water, Executive Forests Agency, regional forests directorates, municipal administrations, non-commercial organisations registered under the Non-Profit Legal Entities Act.
The information days will take place on April 4 to April 5 in Sofia, in the Ministry of Environment and Water, at 22 Maria Luiza blvd, with the following schedule:
  • April 4: 2 pm - 5.30 pm
  • April 5: 10 am - 1.30 pm
Prior registration is not necessary.

Information days will begin with the presentation of the procedure, after which participants will have the opportunity to put questions to the experts from the OPE Managing Authority. Questions and answers from the information days will be published on the website of the Operational Programme "Environment 2007 - 2013".
